Characteristics of Summer Hailstorms Observed by Radar and Himawari-8 in Beijing, China

Severe hailstorms frequently occurred in Beijing between May and August 2021, leading to extensive hail damage. These were observed by radar satellite data, reported surface observers. In this study, the spectral cloud microphysical characteristics of typical events 2021 analyzed using Himawari-8 products ground-based S-band weather data obtained from Meteorological Bureau.
